Pros & Cons of Each Procedure

Laser Lipo

Laser Lipo targets fat cells using laser emitting pads. The laser penetrates down to the fat cells and creates tiny pores in their membranes. This causes the fat cells to release their stored fatty acids, glycerol and water into the body then shrink resulting in lost inches. The body then flushes out the expelled fat cell contents via the Lymphatic System or burns them for energy. The most common treatment areas include, abdomen, waist line, flanks, thighs, buttocks, chin, and arms.

Pros

  • Noninvasive

  • Little to no side effects

  • Get back to regular activities quickly

  • No downtime

  • Great alternative for inch loss without having to go through invasive surgery

  • Minimal Cost

Cons

  • Gradual inch loss

  • Session are twice a week for a couple of weeks

  • Fat cells not eliminated

Liposuction

Liposuction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that uses a rod like hollow instrument to get rid of fats from chosen areas of the body. The rod like hollow instrument being used in this procedure is called a cannula. There are lots of areas of the body that can benefit from such operations such as the buttocks, abdomen, chin, upper arms, thighs, calves, as well as areas on the back.

Pros

  • Immediate improvements

  • Expected or desired chances can be actually apparent or visible just few days after the procedure

  • Fat cells are permanently eliminated from the body.  This only means that if the right maintenance is performed, you will be able to keep your slim appearance

Cons

  • Invasive treatment requires patients to be under general anesthesia the entire time which can actually complicate things especially if there is an underlying disease or condition

  • Your body can easily react unfavorably to any drugs and medicines that you are on while the procedure is ongoing

  • Another drawback of liposuction is that if you do not maintain your regular exercise and a good diet the remaining cells of fat from the treated area(s) may actually fill up which in turn could appear worse than cellulite

  • You may suffer from adverse reactions to anesthesia like excessive bleeding seroma formation, hematoma formation, infection, wound separation, blood clots, asymmetry, delayed healing, excessive scaring, or irregularities

  •  The recovery can be quite uncomfortable for the patient there may be pain and discomfort associated with healing of incisions and also swelling.

CoolSculpting

CoolSculpting technology uses controlled cooling to target and freeze a portion of the fat cells under the skin. In the weeks that follow treatments, the body naturally begin to process fat cells that were frozen during treatment and removes them from the treatment site thereby affecting the appearance of the treated bulge. Your body will continue to naturally process the injured fat cells for weeks to months after the procedure. Results may take up to six months to become visible. Visible results may vary from person to person. Treatment areas include, chin, thighs, abdomen, flank, bra fat, back fat, underneath buttocks, and upper arm.

Pros

  • No surgery necessary

  • Once fat cools it cannot function any more

  • 1 – 2 treatments are needed

Cons

  • Rapid weight loss not possible

  • Client will look the same for several weeks

  • Sensations of pulling, tugging, and mild pinching at the treatment site

  • Intense cold, tingling, stinging, aching, and cramping

  • 1 – 2 weeks after a treatment redness, bruising, tenderness, swelling, itching, skin sensitivity, and numbness.

  •  Numbness can persist up to several weeks after treatment.
